Why Your Trading Results Have Nothing To Do With Your Strategy

Have you ever wondered why some trades feel different than others? You're following the same strategy, looking at the same patterns, but something just feels... off. Last week, I received a message from a trader who was convinced that his strategy wasn't working. He had back-tested it extensively with 300 data points, showing a 45% win rate with a 1:2 risk-reward ratio. Statistically, he should have been profitable. Yet after three months of live trading, his account was down 28%. What he and what most traders didn’t realize and never consider is that his problem wasn't his strategy. It was something far more dangerous. The Hidden Force Destroying Your Trading Account Think about your last losing trade. The Santa Rally, typically seen in December, may be less impressive this year after strong market gains in recent months. With valuations already high, investors may be more cautious, although sectors like technology and consumer discretionary could still benefit from year-end optimism and holiday spending. The continuation of the rally will depend on factors like inflation, interest rates, and geopolitical stability. If these issues stabilize or improve, the market may continue its upward momentum. However, any sudden volatility or negative economic news could dampen the rally’s strength in the final weeks of the year. Looking ahead to 2025, the S&P 500’s outlook remains generally positive, driven by growth in sectors like AI, EVs, and technology. However, challenges such as inflation

People really don't understand the power of compounding and option premiums. That's why they buy and hold shares for 5 years. Case 1: Let's say you got it for $20k and after 5 years it grows to 200k (10x).  Case 2: Let's say you collect option premiums weekly at 2%. Then your 20k will grow in 5 years to $3,444,091.28. Why? Because, each week you collect 2% interest (premium) and reinvest this new total the following week. So, it grows exponentially.  What about tax? Let's say you pay 40% tax. Still you ended up with $779,026.46 And if you just hold the shares (without options), then you get discounted tax by 50% as in Australia. The post tax amount (20%) for case 1 is $164,000.  2% options are not inherently riskier as they are with good companies or ETFs. However, I push th
