Q1 2024 Ending. As we head into last week of March - incidentally end Q1 2024; let’s review what have transpired in the week of March 18 to 22. The most important event of the week was US central bank’s Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting on Mar 19-20, to “finalize” US monetary policy’s direction. 2024 FOMC - 2nd Meeting Summary. As expected, US central bank kept interest status quo (5.25% - 5.5%). It released an updated "dot plot" with 3 rate cuts (still) expected in 2024. US Federal Reserves - latest Dot Plot FOMC sees the fed funds rate gradually heading to 3.1% by 2026, indicating that 2024 is likely the start of a multiyear rate-cutting cycle. Finally. After approximately 2 years and 3 months, Bitcoin finally recovered its lost grounds. On 14 Mar 2024, it even broke through it past peak and conquered a new high, touching $72,227. It has since come off its new peak - still at a enviable $66 466.30 per bitcoin, as of 22 Mar 2024 3:00pm Singapore time. Two questions on my mind really: Will Bitcoin remain elevated at this price range or will it scale even higher come April’s halving exercise? Are companies holding Bitcoin at an advantage or at risk? Price Increase for EV! Finally Tesla decide to make the first step to raise its EV selling price after some periods of price war among EV manufacturers. Tesla stock is well off its 52-weeks high of $299.29, set last summer. Shares are up this week after the electric-vehicle maker announced a coming price increase on its Model Y, while offering some deals on the same vehicles. Both things have the effect of shifting sales volume into the first quarter. The move came after it was reported that the cost of Model Y vehicles made in China would rise by 5,000 yuan, from the beginning of April. Tesla has made similar announcements about Y pricing in the U.S. and Europe recently. Those price increases also are set to take effect in the coming days. The earlier price announcement moved Te
