My trading style is a balanced investor, investing in companies with growth but not too risky. Peter Lynch's book is an eye opener for beginners like me [Like]

Thanks for this interesting trading style self analysis. I scored 36 points! For the guru category, I am placed at the lower limit of George Soros! Haha known as active investor with higher risk tolerance and enjoy actively manage my portfolio. I am glad to know the recommendation from author that I need to further deepen my investment knowledge and avoid to be too aggressive in excessive trading. Thanks again!

I think am a conservative and balanced investor but more towards a conservative investor. I prefer to invest in companies with good fundamentals and consistent stable returns. I tend to go for long term investments and build my portfolio by diversifying into different industries. like the saying goes "do not put your [USD] [USD] [USD]  in only one basket, spread them out into different baskets with different shapes and sizes... With 33 points I’m paralleled to “Growth Investor” William O’Neil. I’m embarrassed to acknowledge that I have never heard of this investor (no doubt a very big player in the investment world 😳). Doesn’t really speak to me in terms of my trading strategy, however there’s always humbly more to learn…

I scored 31 points on the quiz, which aligns with William O'Neil's investing style as a growth investor. 📈

William J. O'Neil is a well-known investor, author, and entrepreneur, best known for his growth investing strategy.

O'Neil is the founder of Investor's Business Daily (IBD), a popular financial newspaper, and he is also the author of several best-selling books on stock market investing.

O'Neil is primarily recognized for his growth investing approach. This style focuses on identifying stocks of companies with strong growth potential. These are typically companies with increasing earnings, sales, and other financial metrics.

O'Neil developed a well-known investment strategy called CAN SLIM, which stands for:

C: Current earnings per share - Look for companies with strong and accelerating earnings growth.

A: Annual earnings growth - Seek companies with consistently high annual earnings growth rates.

N: New products or services - Favor companies introducing new and innovative products or services.

S: Supply and demand - Pay attention to the trading volume and demand for the stock.

L: Leader or laggard - Invest in market leaders, not companies that are lagging behind.

I: Institutional sponsorship - Look for stocks with support from institutional investors.

M: Market direction - Invest in stocks that align with the overall market trend.

O'Neil places a significant emphasis on technical analysis. He believes in using charts and technical indicators to time stock purchases and sales. This includes looking for breakout patterns, moving averages, and other technical signals.

O'Neil stresses the importance of risk management. He advises setting stop-loss orders to limit potential losses and protect gains. He also emphasizes the importance of market timing. He believes in investing during bullish market phases and staying cautious during bear markets. He encourages investors to control their emotions and not let fear or greed drive their decisions.

Overall, William O'Neil's approach to investing is data-driven, with a strong focus on identifying growth opportunities and managing risk effectively. I am honoured that my investment style aligns with him.

I'm a growth investor with 32 points, like William O'Neill. Somewhere in between. I will take risks when looking for higher returns but I also have a longer horizon and want my investments to grow in the long run. I hold REITs for dividends, big tech for long term growth and gamble on Chinese stocks 😂

Scored 34, which is growth investor. William O’neil. Quite confusing as i have dividend stock investment which is more passive and options selling which is more active. Ended up with a score thats not in any extreme.

🌟🌟🌟I am a Balanced Investor and believe in holding a diversified portfolio to minimise my risk.  Yet I am always seeking opportunities to invest in companies that have wide moats and have strong growth ahead which are undervalued.
Peter Lynch likes to say that in the business of investing, if you are good, you are right 6 times out of ten.  You are never going to be right 9 times out of 10.
So my motto in investing is to learn  from my mistakes and in doing so, become a better investor.

Thanks  @TigerEvents for hosting this fun event! I think I am an "Active Investor" with 36 points. I used to think of and tell myself that I'm a long term investor, mainly buying sg stocks and wait for 4-5% dividends every year. Everyone is a long term investor when markets are heading up, but I think there's opportunity in making profits when doing some swing trades when markets chop around a bit. Its also dangerous to be a long term investor if you fall in love with a stock that keeps falling and you end up bag holding, tying up your capital.

Growth investor. At my current age, absolutely this suit me the most. High growth with cautious of investment risk. Can't deny technical analysis and macroeconomic are those fields I have to dig further to complement my fundamental analysis. Hope you guys find your own investment style too and execute it disciplinely.
