Self-Effort vs. Others' Help: Which is More Important For Success?
Everyone desires success, but achieving it requires many factors. Among the most important are one's own efforts and opportunities. Opportunities are often perceived as assistance from others.
For example, a major client placing an order that turns a company's losses into profits, or someone riding on the coattails of a celebrity's popularity.
Taking the booming AI sector as an example, $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ achieved a significant surge in its stock price through its own efforts in developing chips.
However, there's a stock with a 204% year-to-date increase, surpassing even NVIDIA's performance, and that's $SUPER MICRO COMPUTER INC(SMCI)$ .
The market generally attributes SMCI's sharp rise to NVIDIA. The founder of Super Micro Computer and NVIDIA's CEO, Jensen Huang forged a deep friendship from a young age.
In recent years, while Super Micro Computer faced difficulties in its development, it maintained a close cooperation with NVIDIA.
Riding on the AI boom, $SUPER MICRO COMPUTER INC(SMCI)$ secured a significant number of NVIDIA GPU orders, leading to explosive revenue growth and stock price surge.
Can you share any examples of success that were achieved with the help of others?

self-effort and others' help - both are equally important.
life is such, sometimes you need help from others to accomplish things. likewise, you render help to those in need.
business is the same, you need customers' support to keep the business going and vice versa.
I remember reading an article where the charismatic one's business almost went bust, but clinching a contract at the last minute not only saved the business but propelled into a global brand...
we need each other in order to survive in this world, therefore, appreciate one another [smile] [smile] [smile]

What a great and interesting topic to discuss : Self Effort versus Others' Help!
Which do you think is more important for success?
It takes a while for me to think about it, and personally, I think that both are equally important for someone to succeed. Why?
Well, success won't come itself, so everyone needs to work hard, thus contributing a big portion of self effort in order to see the satisfying outcomes.
Honest speaking, unless you are the“lucky" one, if there's no any minimum self effort, I don't think you can succeed in most of the case.
How about others' help? Referring back to the self effort, it's critical at the initial stage where you need to kick the ideas or things start.
However, it's not always easy to succeed with purely self effort engaged. Moving on to the journey towards the success, I think many of us will face challenges like insufficient funds, limited knowledges and ideas which might lead to a higher risk exposure, and lack of ressources for us to move further. Therefore, at this stage, the others' help play an important role towards a success.
Solo and alone is not always a bad thing, but if you have a great team, things will be much better and more efficient.Today, let me share some investment experience that aligned with this topic.
If you recalled back in 2020 and 2021, there's a surge of multiple meme stocks, specially led by GME.
The short squeeze of GME caused the underlying stock to fly to the moon, and indirectly ignited the market sentiment on the meme stocks, therefore sending many meme stocks crazy, for example AMC, BB, CLOV, BBBY, WISH, WENDY, XSPA, FFIE etc… This is an extremely good example that “With others' help", these meme managed to ride the bull rally together with GME. However, here's come the context why self effort is critical as well. Most of these stocks do not have a good and stable fundamental (we can understand in the way that their“self effort" is pretty poor and lousy). For such, their surge were unable to sustain for long period, that's why we witness an extremely bearish movement for these stocks like $AMC Entertainment(AMC)$ $Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc.(FFIE)$ $Grab Holdings(GRAB)$ $NIO Inc.(NIO)$ $Occidental(OXY)$
In short, the message that I tried to pass through here is even you get the success with “Others' help”, but without “Self Effort”, you won't be able to maintain your success and will give up the gain eventually just like the examples shown above. Do you agree with me? Come and leave your comments below guys.

🌟🌟🌟Synergy is the sum total that exceeds individual effort but when we combine that with passion, the sky is the limit. That's what happened when Warren Buffett met Charlie Munger in 1965 and the result of that partnership is the success of $Berkshire Hathaway(BRK.B)$. Warren Buffett paid a tribute to Charlie Munger recently as "The Architect of Berkshire Hathaway" while Warren Buffett said that he is just like a general contractor overseeing its daily operations.
While Nvidia is hailed as a market leader in the specialised chips used in AI, $SUPER MICRO COMPUTER INC(SMCI)$ is the horsepower that provides the AI centric servers that power Nvidia chips. This is Synergy in action at its best. Both CEOs Jensen Huang and Charles Liang founded Nvidia and SMCI in 1993. Jensen Huang focused his passion on making the best GPU while Charles Liang focused his passion on making the best servers. 31 years later, both companies have the best products in their area of speciality.
So I believe in order to have great success in life, both self effort and others' help are equally important. That is when you have Synergy at its absolute best!

Another example is Open Source Software which rely on collaboration and contributions from a global community of developers, who collectively work to create, maintain, and improve software that is freely available for anyone to use, modify, & distribute. E.g. the Linux operating system & Apache web server.
Ultimately, success often results from a combination of self-effort and help from others. While self-determination and hard work lay the foundation for achievement, the support, guidance, and collaboration of others can amplify and accelerate progress towards success. Balancing individual initiative with the willingness to seek assistance and collaborate with others can maximize the likelihood of reaching one’s goals

smci continues to ride the wave of AI optimism... there might be other stronger companies that are fundamentally stronger so I'm not too keen on smci
