In the first half of the year, Bitcoin (BTC) emerged as the best-performing asset, experiencing a rise of over 80% to close above $30,000 on June 30. This performance outpaced other significant assets such as $Gold - main 2308(GCmain)$ , $S&P 500(.SPX)$ , and the Nikkei 225 index.

Goldman Sachs ranked Bitcoin as the best-performing asset of 2023.
Why did BTC posted strongest performance in H1?
In the first half of the year, Bitcoin has shown resilience. The crypto market dealt with the effect of the collapse FTX and several crypto-related firms.
However, bank run and debt crisis propelled investors to seek for safe-haven asset like cryptos.
Despite the collapse of two major banks with links to cryptocurrencies (Silvergate and Signature Bank), the expansion of the Federal Reserve's balance sheet and the addition of liquidity through "QE Light" benefited Bitcoin.
Recent indications that the Fed may be nearing the end of its rate increase cycle have also had a positive effect on BTC. Less rate hikes in Q2 2023 could provide support for the value of the top cryptocurrency.

In the future, there is a great possibility that its value can even soar to USD 100,000 and be better regulated by the central authorities.
However patience and a long term horizon are prerequisites to holding Bitcoin since it is subject to much volatility.
