Thai Bev Up For 7 Straight Days! Would You Invest in Products You Use Regularly?

Whether dining alone or gathering with friends and colleagues, beverages are always a must-have. Recently, we discussed Singapore's love for bubble tea. Equally significant are alcoholic beverages. There are some popular brands like Chang Beer owned by $ThaiBev(Y92.SI)$, and Tiger Beer under $HEINEKEN NV(0O26.UK)$.

Generally, people may be more familiar with stocks that they use products regularly. $Spotify Technology S.A.(SPOT)$

Following the release of its financial report on November 21, Thai Beverage has achieved seven consecutive days of stock price gains.

Although FY2024 results are flat, analysts are positive about its outlook.

Net Profit: THB27.21 billion ($1.05 billion), down 0.8% year-on-year (y-o-y).

🌟🌟🌟I am a long term investor in $Sheng Siong(OV8.SI)$  the 3rd largest supermarket chain in Singapore.  My family especially my mother loves to shop in Sheng Siong as it offers great value for money.  Sheng Siong is well located in the heartlands of Singapore where the locals shop and  dine.

Sheng Siong also pays  nice steady dividends twice a year.  The current dividend yield is 3.83%.  Sheng Siong has recently hit its 52 week high at SGD 1.68.

Sheng Siong has a wide moat due to its extensive distribution network and large number of outlets.  Being in the Consumer Staples Sector, Sheng Siong will continue to grow slow and steadily irrespective of economic cycles.  That is the kind of stock which I love to invest.

I would consider investing in products I use regularly, as it gives me confidence in the brand and a better understanding of its potential. However, it’s still important to analyze the company’s financial health and market conditions.

I’m cautiously optimistic about $ThaiBev(Y92.SI)$ prospects. While its FY2024 results were flat, the 2.2% revenue growth and analysts’ positive outlook suggest there’s room for future growth, especially with expectations of better margins and volume expansion in the coming periods.

In addition to ThaiBev, there are other notable Singapore-listed food and beverage companies. $SATS LTD.(S58.SI)$ is a leading provider of food solutions in the region, while $Frasers Property(TQ5.SI)$ has significant exposure to the sector. $Olam Group(VC2.SI)$, a key player in agriculture and food supply chains, is another example. All these companies offer diverse opportunities in Singapore's food and beverage sector.

yes, invest in products that you use regularly is open way to gauge how "sticky" the product is. For e.g. Apple, Google, Microsoft... ThaiBev can be considered consumer staples, and might be a good company to own for diversification. However, I don't buy Singapore stocks except SG banks.

investing in products I use regularly is always in my search for good price. These products and services are likely to remain a part of consumers' lives and continue to thrive in the years to come. Why?A $Diageo PLC(DEO)$ Guinness Stout, $Hewlett Packard Enterprise(HPE)$ often becomes more of a habit than a mere choice, and habits are hard to break.
Typically, a blue-chip company has a market capitalization in the billions and is either a market leader or one of the top companies in its industry.
You need to consider the company’s fundamentals, valuation, and several other factors.

It is best to be familiar with the stock and by using the products, one can tell to a certain extent if this is a worthy company to invest in. I’m not too optimistic about it especially when risk of recession still lingers. I don’t pay much attention to Singapore listed food and beverage companies as I feel that it’s not as safe as the banks and dividends not as good as the SREITs.
