Riding the Post-Golden Week Bull - Let's Go China.

On Tuesday, the entire nation of China will be back to work. If you've been following Chinese social media, you'll have noticed a surge of interest in investing in the Chinese stock market over the past few days. Some mainlanders are even going as far as refinancing their homes to free up capital. The level of enthusiasm to jump back into the market after the Golden Week holiday is something we haven't seen before in the history of the Chinese stock market. Some may argue that this is only a short-term effect, but the Chinese market has been depressed for so long, and many Chinese companies' valuations no longer make sense – they are relatively cheap. This bull run is bound to benefit some of the most well-run and long-undervalued Chinese companies. The question is, what are your top picks

TBI's Thoughts [5]: Alcoa (NYSE: AA)... Is Aluminum the New Craze?

Hi everyone. Today, I’m covering one of the largest producers of aluminum in the world: Alcoa Corporation (NYSE: AA) The monthly chart shows AA with a series of equal highs around the 98-100 area, albeit with a series of long-term higher lows since 1972. This suggests long-term consolidation within a range that gradually gets tighter and tighter with time. The Stochastic made its first bullish crossover in several months following September’s large engulfing candle. Thus far, we have seen consolidation within last month’s range. We can also see a shorter-term bullish megaphone pattern (higher highs, lower lows) that found support at the newly-confirmed 1972 trendline. The weekly chart shows a breakout from the Mar’22 resistance trendline (in pink), and a support trendline dating back to Ju

What If The Economy Is Booming?

On the surface, the market had a pretty quiet week. But underneath, there’s a tension that seems to rip the market in different directions. On one hand, we’ve been hearing for months that consumer spending is weakening, and evidence has shown that unemployment is a growing problem as consumers deal with higher costs. On the other hand, data this week showed a great labor market and falling inflation just as the Fed started cutting rates, which could be great for the economy and the market.I’ll get into why I’m comfortable with my investments no matter what happens below. What If Everything Is Fine?On Friday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released a jobs report that showed 254,000 jobs were added to the economy, and the unemployment rate fell slightly to 4.1%. That goes against the concern t

Is Apple’s growth engine stalling?

$Apple(AAPL)$ ’s relatively weak position in the AI industry, combined with concerns over market saturation and innovation risks, might leave the company vulnerable in a potentially weakening macroeconomic environment. Moreover, it’s one of the most highly valued companies among the “Mag Seven,” yet shows no clear signs that it deserves this valuation based on future growth projections.Four Key Factors The iPhone remains Apple’s main growth driver, but the sales expansion expected with the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, fueled by AI hype, hasn’t delivered as anticipated. This isn’t a good sign, but it’s mainly because the new AI features haven’t been fully activated yet. That’s probably why the much-anticipated upgrade supercycle hasn’t fully kicke
