I still haven’t figure out why the cold reception to $Apple(AAPL)$ stock sharing in my Wed, 19 Apr 2023 post (click link to read, remember to like ok - tks) ?

I am giving it a go at it again. This time its a more philosophical slant to this tech titan of a stock.

Timely reminder on innovation

Once upon a time……

The above quotation “The cure for Apple…. innovate its way …. current predicament”… was spoken by Steve Jobs in 1996, when he was interviewed by Owen W. Linzmayer for his book Apple Confidential 2.0: The Definitive History of the World's Most Colorful Company.

Back then, Mr Jobs was not yet back at Apple, but merely expressing his vision for how the company could regain its leadership and creativity in the computer industry.

He believed Apple had lost its focus on innovation & quality, and that it needed to (a) create new products that would delight customers and (b) challenge the status quo.

He heavily criticized the cost-cutting measures that Apple's Management had implemented, such as outsourcing and layoffs, which he thought were hurting the company's culture and morale.

Was it spooky or coincidence that a year later (1997), Jobs later returned to Apple - the company he co-founded with Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne, after it acquired his company NeXT was acquired by Apple Inc.

Wtih his vision, strategy of innovation and design excellence implemented following his return, Apple Inc never looked back, only forward.

He led the development of the following iconic products that transformed and propelled Apple Inc to become one of the most valuable and influential companies in the world:

  • iMac

  • iPod

  • iPhone

  • iPad

  • iTunes

With Steve Job’s untimely passing 5 Oct 2011, after a long battle with a rare form of pancreatic cancer, many wondered if Apple Inc would be able to introduce groundbreaking products without the original founder.

In the decade that follows, the company has proven that it still possesses the creative DNA to introduce world-class innovative products that delight customers the world over and shape the future of technology.
